About Griet Van Malderen

Let's create beautiful things

"You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."

Jane Goodall

We all have the choice… Which one are you going to make?

Photographer | Conservationist | Storyteller

My journey into photography began with a life-changing safari in South Africa. What started as a simple fascination with capturing wildlife soon became an obsession—one that led me across Africa, documenting the untamed beauty of the natural world. Over the years, my passion evolved into a profession, allowing me to tell the stories of the wild through my lens.

For me, photography isn’t just about capturing moments; it’s about creating a deeper connection between people and nature. My work focuses on big tuskers, rare wildlife encounters, and the raw emotions of the animal kingdom, all while emphasizing the urgency of conservation.

Beyond photography, I bring my love for the wild into everyday life through Wild Souls, my brand inspired by nature. From my book Wild Souls—a collection of elegant black-and-white wildlife portraits—to my Kikoy collection, which reflects the effortless beauty of Africa, every creation is rooted in a deep respect for the wilderness.

Conservation at Heart

Conservation is not just part of my work—it’s my purpose. That’s why I actively support projects where I personally know where the money goes and the impact it creates. To make giving back accessible to everyone, I’ve introduced a DONATE section on my site, ensuring complete transparency. Each donor receives a confirmation when the funds are sent, allowing you to be part of real, on-the-ground conservation efforts.

A Life Inspired by the Wild

Whether I’m tracking lions on a remote beach, experimenting with historic photography techniques, or preparing for an expedition in northern Chad, my work is always driven by one thing: a love for the wild. Through my images, my creations, and my conservation efforts, I hope to inspire others to see, appreciate, and protect the incredible world we share.
